When I was in kindergarten, I would like to have a mum who would allow me to have long hair so I could wear a pony tail to school; who could read me interesting bedtime stories instead of just reading the words straight from the book and who was more patient like my uncle's wife.
For the past twenty years, I have seen her crying, shouting, cursing, fighting, throwing things & breaking down, all these images of hers still haunt me sometimes. But I have also felt her strength in protecting us, love for the family, energy in taking care of everything, determination to sustain the family, power to defend attack & enthusiasm in learning.
I have witnessed her change from a self-pitied person to a cheerful woman. Now I no longer envy other people's elegant mothers, I feel so proud of my mother just as she is.

Nice!
Pity is that the latter part is not applicable on mine.
